WHAT ARE MEMBER RANKS AND GROUPS?
MEMBER RANKS
STAFF GROUPS
NPC POSTERS
So you're curious what member groups and ranks are, and which ones you can be? You've heard us refer to a rank you haven't heard of? Well, you've found the right thread! We'll give you an idea of all the ranks and a little bit of a description of what they all do.
001 Member ranks are available and given to all members from the moment they sign in for the very first time. It is up to the member to raise their rank by increasing their post count. A list of all the member ranks, the amount of posts needed to reach each rank, and their identifying star count.
002 | Staff groups are the members who work hard to make this site run as effectively as possible. Staff members come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and ranks, and each are listed below. Staff members are promoted only when a rank becomes available, and are given to only the most deserving member.
003 | Inactive members are a group of members who have fallen inactive without any explanation. Members are moved to this group when they have gone at least a month without any activity, and without giving any staff members warning that they will be away - either short term or long-term. Inactive members have to fill out a form to retrieve their account. Are you an inactive member trying to get your account back? Please fill out this form.
004 | NPC posters are accounts that have been made as a sort of placeholder, meant to help the site flow properly and fill in a gap with certain plots on the site.
MEMBER RANKS
001 | When all new members begin on the site, starting off with 0 posts, they start at the rank "Kit". They have 0 stars listed below their member rank.
002 | After a member has reached 100 posts, they are automatically bumped up to the "Apprentice" rank. Apprentice's have 1 star listed below their member rank.
003 | Apprentices automatically promoted to the "Warrior" rank after they reach 500 posts. Warriors have 2 stars listed below their member rank.
004 | When a member hits 1000 posts, they automatically become a "Senior Warrior". Senior Warriors have 3 stars listed below their member rank.
006 | After a member hits 2500 posts, they become a "Deputy". Deputies have 4 stars listed below their member rank.
007 | Members finally reach the highest rank, "Leader", after they hit a remarkable 5000 post count. Leaders have 5 stars listed below their member rank.
STAFF GROUPS
01 | The highest ranking staff position is "StarClan Leader", or, our admins. Our Admins are the ones responsible for running the site and making all major decisions, as well as keeping up with both day-to-day and long-term operations around the site. Currently, our Admin account is shared by all administrators and used only for official site purposes, or powers not available to any other account, and administrators use their own, personal accounts in order to RP.INACTIVE MEMBERS
02 | "StarClan Deputy" is what we call our Global Mods. Our Global Mods effectively work as the heads of the Mods, as well as the right-hand-man for the Admins. Global Mods play a large part in making sure the site runs smoothly, and are often the ones put in charge when the Admin is away. Global Mods are generally trusted to make smaller decisions themselves, in order to answer member questions or suggestions as swiftly as possible.
03 | Our final, named staff position is "StarClan Medicine Cat", or, our Mods. Mods are different than Global Mods in powers and in their abilities to make major decisions. Mods are used to help the site run smoothly and fix smaller touches, or help keep the site clean, tidy, and easy to use. Other than keeping the site functional, Mods are also important to keeping the site friendly, and settling disputes, or helping with new members or quests.
04 | Our last staff rank is probably the rank that is the most changing. "Site Workers" are generally only temporary staff members, or members who are allowed to do certain tasks and have certain powers on the site, but without having the abilities or authority of moderators or higher powers.
001 | When a member becomes inactive (going at least a month without logging in, or going several months without posting, for example), they are moved to our inactive members group. Inactive members are given a limited function of the site, until they apply to have their account return, and all their characters and threads are immediately archived. All characters are removed from Clan trackers, and if a member has a high ranking character, they will be removed from the position. While the account is returnable, the high ranking position is not. If you want to avoid your account going inactive, you must PM a staff member or leave a going away message.
002 | Inactive members, once logged into their accounts, have limited site capabilities, and essentially need to fill out an account retrieval form before they can post. However, they can still view a small number of boards, such as the guidebook, and may still PM other members or speak on the Chatbox.
003 | Are you an inactive member who's looking to get their account back? Please fill out this easy form.
NPC POSTERS
001 | "NPC Posters", short for "Non-Player Character Posters", is less of a position given to a member as much as it is a categorization of a certain type of account. Some accounts, such as plot, are used simply as a means to use a character that no member officially plays, often in terms of progressing a plot or similar themes. NPC posters are made and managed by staff.
