BEHAVIOR
Thanks for reading! Sorry it's so long, just wanted to get it all out there. Overall, don't do anything stupid or obnoxious. It gets on everybody's nerves. Participate whenever possible, a Role Playing Game just isn't fun without participation!
001 | First things first, this site sits on the ground between a PG and a PG-13 rating. Have you taken a peak at Proboard's Terms of Service? If you have not taken a look at them yet, I suggest you do so here. As a warrior's site, certain themes and events are going to appear: violence, mating, and death included. We also permit language that is not suitable for younger audiences. Yes, this means swear words.
002 | Post in third person! It just makes sense if you go from one post to another. We know who you are talking about in third person. We don’t like having to go back to the character profile to figure out who “I” is.
003 | As this is a Warriors RPG, we will be using cats, and only cats, to role-play. We are fairly lenient with what cats are allowed to be in the Clans, such as bengals and siameses, and fairly liberal when it comes to the characters' names. However, if there are names, histories, and appearances that are too far fetched, such as Deathscythe, the albino cat with purple eyes, the future leader of ThunderClan and the daughter of Tigerstar, you will be denied.
004 | There is a word count of 100 here. 100 words is incredibly easy to hit, and maybe takes a paragraph. We are a semi-literate RPG, but we are open to members of all skill levels, especially when they are interested in improving.
005 | We have our own set of seasons, so please follow them! Chances are, prey is going to be plentiful during greenleaf and scarce in leaf-bare, as well as the weather being warm in newleaf and cool in leaf-bare. Please account for this in your posts! If you don't remember which season it is, you can check our Clan Information table at the top of the home page. Newleaf runs March 1st - May 31st. Greenleaf runs June 1st - August 31st. Leaf-fall runs September 1st - November 30th. Leaf-bare runs December 1st - February 28th (or 29th respectively).
CHARACTERS
001 | Angels & Thieves allows character-per-account role-play, or members keeping all their character under one account. If you have one character per account, change said account's name to the character's name. If you have multiple characters per account, you may use whatever name you wish, but please keep a list of character names in your signature, or create a tracker.
002 | Angels & Thieves employs liquid time. What does this mean? It means you may have a character appear in multiple threads at once. However, don't forget to use some common sense - say you have a character attending the gathering, they can't be in a thread taking place during the gathering at the same time. But, otherwise, have at it!
003 | In the world of warriors, it's very easy to have many distinct and memorable warriors characters. An easy way to help ensure this is our name claim feature: where members reserve currently in-use, and soon-to-be in-use names for characters. Characters may share the prefixes of names, provided they are not in the same Clan within the same lifespan. This includes variations such as gray and grey. There are a few exceptions to this rule, such as naming one cat after another.
004 | While we are happy to accept all variations of words, such as gray and grey as well as color and colour, if a character is named Graypaw, please do not refer to them as Greypaw, because this is not their name. You wouldn't call Sarah by Sara, would you? Of course not, that's not their name! If you are unsure how to refer to them, please look at how their owner spells their name, both on site and in the book series, or simply ask.
005 | Like they do in the books, our characters on the site age. On the 15th and 30th of every month (the 14th and 28th in February) every character who is in play will age one moon. Apart from affecting how old your characters are, this may have impact on how we have things set up on our site: queens will give birth two moons after they announce they are expecting kits; kits will wait six moons before they become apprentices, apprentices are in training for at least six moons before they become warriors. This means you must adjust ages on a character's bio and tracker as they age (our Clan Trackers will have a record of the current ages as a reference). Sometimes age-ups will be cancelled for various reasons, so please check the Clan Trackers if you are unsure.
006 | Though age plays a part in how character developments work on this site, so do life experiences. In the books, apprentices train with a mentor, and a warrior must have had an apprentice before they can become deputy. This is true for our site as well: all apprentices must have at least one training session with their mentor before they can become a warrior, and all warriors who would like to be considered for deputy must have trained an apprentice.
007 | We love to encourage each character to grow and develop, and participate in their own smaller side-plots as well as the major site-plot. Make sure you build up your character by both role-playing with them to give them relevance in the Angels and Thieves world, as well as plot with members outside of being in character, you might be surprised what you brainstorm.
008 | High Rank positions are, by nature, highly desired positions. With five Clans, and two rogue Clans, we have plenty of high ranks to offer. However, we try and balance our high ranks somewhere in the middle of character and user. Before someone can even be considered for a high rank, they must be an active role-player, have several threads of experience under their belt, and be willing to commit to the demands of the position. Leaders, for instance, must preform a ceremony for warriors and apprentices every moon, attend and announce at the gatherings, as well as be involved in site plots.
BIOS & TRACKERS
001 | All characters who are in play must have a complete and accepted biography. Members are permitted to use WIPs to start their bios and work on them little by little, but these characters will not be active until a staff member accepts them.
002 | Characters of all sexualities are welcome here, just make sure you clarify this note in the character's bio, and in your character's tracker. Also, be respectful of other character's sexualities - a straight she-cat might end up with a bisexual tom, but a straight she-cat and a gay she-cat probably aren't gonna work, so don't push the member to make it happen.
003 | Does your character not identify with a certain gender, or identify with a gender they biologically aren't? That's fine, just make sure you make a note of this in their bio and tracker. However, we do need to know the character's biological gender, just so we can keep an accurate count on our Clan trackers - just make a note that they are biologically one gender, but identify as another.
004 | As characters age and play on the site, they expand to their experiences. This means that bios and trackers must be updated to fix changes in characters, such as names, ages, and, most importantly, histories. Pick a day once a month to go through and update your characters to keep them up to date as reliable references for all our other members.
005 | Clan Trackers are meant to act as the allegiances for each respective group of the site. Through our Clan trackers, you can look up which characters are in which Clan, how old they are, what gender they are, what they look like, who they mentor, and what kits they have. We also include which members play which characters. Also on these trackers are the Clan counters, where we calculate the totals of each Clans, as well as the mentor and apprentices assignments for each Clan. Please feel free to make use of these references!
006 | Members are encouraged to make Character Trackers or Loggings to keep track of their characters, their relationships to others, any anything else they desire. Members are allowed to create their own and set them up however they would like. However, members are not permitted to post on each other's trackers, so if you post on someone else's tracker, your post will be deleted.
CHAT BOX
001 | Do not spam, advertise in, or bash the site or members of this site in the C-Box. If it's a member that is doing this, you will be confronted on problem behavior and be handled accordingly. All advertising should be done in the forum designated for advertising. And spamming, well it's just not nice. The C-Box is there specifically for communicating with other members, not for your random typing pleasures.
BEHAVIOR
001 | Everyone on this site has made it past kindergarten, and should know how to treat people. However, because this seems to become an issue without fail, I will list some of these simple behaviors even five year olds can master: treat others the way you want to be treated, offer constructive criticism over negative views, respect other people's views and beliefs, two wrongs does not make a right, what goes around comes around, don't tattle on each other, and don't get pissed off and have a temper tantrum. If you fail kindergarten behavior, I will put you in time-out. Be better than the toddlers, my friends.
002 | If you're having a problem with someone, on the c-box or the site, please take a screenshot of the conversation and let a staff member know. We're here to encourage friendly, fun behavior, and we will not tolerate fighting, even among long time members and staff.
Thanks for reading! Sorry it's so long, just wanted to get it all out there. Overall, don't do anything stupid or obnoxious. It gets on everybody's nerves. Participate whenever possible, a Role Playing Game just isn't fun without participation!
